CHARLOTTETOWN - A Prince Edward Island firm is bringing a taste of the province's ice cream to Beijing.

Cows Creamery opened its first ice cream shop Friday in China's capital city.

Ice cream sold at the store will be made in P.E.I. and shipped to China.

Charlottetown-based Sunrise Group is working with Cows Creamery to open the Chinese store.

Premier Robert Ghiz attended the store's official opening.

The Beijing opening was also attended by about 150 other guests, including the Canadian ambassador to China and Cows chief executive Jackie McIntyre.
