Provincial police closed Simcoe County Road 169 in both directions after a sinkhole was discovered Monday night. Officers were called to Simcoe County Road 169 around 8:30 p.m. and found the sinkhole roughly eight feet wide and four feet deep. The road was closed between Monck Road and Concession Road 13, with police advising it would be a “lengthy closure.” The Ministry of Transportation sent a crew to deal with the necessary repairs. The area reopened between Monck Road and County Road 46 shortly after midnight. Further repairs may be required once the extent of the hole is determined.
