A pickup truck went up in flames in Muskoka leaving a plume of dark smoke over the orange skyline. On Tuesday evening, the Muskoka Lakes Fire Department arrived on the scene of a vehicle fire along Muskoka Road 118. Officials say the road was closed for roughly half-an-hour while crews worked to clear the area and put out the heavy flames. Additional fire crews from Milford Bay and Port Carling arrived on the scene to help extinguish the blaze. Officials reported that no one was injured in the midst of the fire. Ontario Provincial Police will be taking over the investigation. It is unclear what circumstances led to the truck catching flames. Firefighters are asking drivers to remember to check their mirrors for emergency vehicles. “When you see the lights, slow down and move over,” shared fire officials in Muskoka.
