Fire crews in Springwater responded to a fast-moving field fire Saturday evening near County Road 92 and Vigo Road. Officials say the wide-spread blaze, sparked by a combine, quickly swept across the dry field prompting crews to the area. Firefighters from Springwater and Wasaga Beach set up defensive positions to shield a farm and several residential homes in the rural area. No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged. An investigation confirmed the cause of the flames originating from the farm equipment operating in the field.
