Volvo is teasing its new SUV concept vehicle ahead of the North American International Auto Show next month.
The Concept XC Coupe picks up where the company's last show car, the Concept Coupe, left off. It is the second in a series of three design studies the company is planning to reveal over the coming months.
Volvo has a reputation for building extremely safe and, as a result, often extremely 'boxy' cars.
What it doesn't have is a reputation for stealing the limelight from other more exciting or challenging carmakers at international auto shows.
But that's exactly what happened in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show when the company took the wraps off the Concept Coupe. So overwhelmingly positive were the press reactions and visitor responses to the two-door sportscar that Volvo is seriously considering putting it into production.
And there's a good chance that its second new concept, which clearly uses the same design language and adopts the same styling cues, but applies them to an off-roader, could kick up a similar fuss at the North America International Auto Show in Detroit in January.
However, for those that can't wait until Jan. 13, Volvo has supplied a couple of teaser images and released a short video. It has also promised it will reveal more information about the car in the coming weeks.
