In its first season in 2015, the Micra Cup, “Canada’s most affordable race series,” was hosted on tracks solely in Quebec, but for thsi year, the schedule includes a race at Calabogie in May and two at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (Mosport), in July and September.

Over 90 percent of drivers from 2015 are returning for the 2016 races, and they can look forward to most rules staying the same. The only changes include some loosening of the guidelines; spec fuel is no longer necessary, and wheel camber settings are free.

Nissan also announced it would be making available just 250 examples of a racing inspired Micra Cup Limited Edition, a street car with wheels and graphics borrowed from the race car, plus a plaque signed by the 2015 season champion. That car goes on sale early spring 2016.
