As well as new luxury convertibles and SUVs, Mercedes-Benz will be unveiling two new very special editions of its latest super coupe the AMG C 63

The Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe and the even more potent C 63 S Coupe are already pretty special. As well as striking looks they pack a heavyweight punch in terms of power. The C63, despite its small proportions has a 4-liter bi-turbo V8 developing 469bhp and can hit 180mph with the limiter removed. The S version takes those figures up to 503bhp and throws in a 0-100km/h time of 3.9 seconds for good measure.

However, for the Frankfurt motor show the company will be revealing a special version called the 'Edition 1' that takes styling cues form the latest Mercedes-AMG DTM racecar and which will help owners really stand out from the crowd.

When the cars go on sale in March, after their official reveal on September 17, clients will be able to choose from two exterior design finishes if they plump for the range-topping C 63 S model. A special Magno Selenite Grey matte paint with yellow film highlights and stripes adorns the body and there are also exclusive matte black performance 48-centimetre wheels with a double-spoke design (50-centimetres at the rear) that are stronger yet more lightweight than on the standard model. These in turn cover the carbon ceramic brakes that are fitted as standard -- a welcome option for a car with so much performance on tap.

The second finish, is more discreet, with gloss alloy wheels, while the contrasting racing stripes are rendered in graphite grey. With this package, the carbon ceramic brakes are an optional extra, but both exterior schemes get a new aerodynamics package including pronounced front and rear spoilers to help make even more of the performance on tap and to even more clearly differentiate them from the standard super coupe.

Inside, the cars get AMG's dedicated, black Nappa leather-covered sports seats and the cabin features contrasting yellow stripes, stitching and panel detailing. There's even a redesigned version of the analogue IWC dashboard clock.
