As a tribute to the 2014 DTM champion Marco Wittmann, the German manufacturer is launching a special version of its M4 coupe in an extremely limited edition of just 23 units.

Available exclusively in Alpine White, the car bears the number 23 and the German flag at the rear, along with "WIT" and "DTM Champion 2014" lettering. On the inside, the champion's signature graces the dashboard.

This special edition M4 has 19-inch light-alloy wheels, carbon aerodynamic details and an Alcantara-covered steering wheel. Multicolored stripes decorate the hood and the trunk.

The 3.0-liter twin turbo engine is the same as on the standard M4, delivering 431hp and 0 to 100km/h acceleration in 4.1 seconds.

In a nod to Wittmann's racing number, the model will be issued in a series of 23 units. Each buyer will enjoy a lesson in race car driving from the 2014 DTM champion at the renowned Nordschleife track at Nürburgring in Germany. The price of the BMW M4 DTM has not been announced.

In early 2013, BMW celebrated its return to victory at the 2012 DTM series by launching a special edition M3 in metallic black. Along with decorative stripes on the roof and trunk, the model stood out for its rear window stickers honoring the pilot Bruno Spengler. Produced in a limited edition of 54 cars, the special M3 was sold at a starting price of €99,000 (around $126,000).
