Chevrolet unveiled a new futuristic concept with looks as if it came straight out of a sci-fi movie, the Chevrolet-FNR, at the Shanghai auto show in China April 20. The wildly styled concept is an autonomous electric vehicle Chevrolet says " offers a glimpse at mobility of the future."

The concept boasts features such as crystal-laser headlights and taillights, wireless auto-charging, hubless wheels with built-in electric motors and "dragonfly" dual-swing doors, according to Chevrolet.

A roof-mounted radar system would work with sensors to map out the car's immediate surroundings and drive itself to your intended destination. While in self-driving mode, front seat occupants would also be able to swivel themselves 180-degrees rearward to face the back seat occupants.

That is, of course, provided you'd properly started the car using its eye-recognition ignition, and opt not to use the car's gesture-recognition controls to put it back into manual driving mode.

Chevrolet did not say how many of the features in the Chevrolet-FNR actually worked in the car on display, or whether it even ran. They were similarly tight-lipped about when exactly we could see some of these technologies make their way into production Chevrolets.
