Buick unveiled its facelifted 2017 Encore at the New York auto show March 23, a small SUV it says will now come fitted with the latest technology, including features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Those apps will be displayed on a standard eight-inch colour touchscreen, which itself is part of a broader interior upgrade that includes other new standard features like keyless unlock and push-button start.

Also new on the 2017 Encore: the grille, which has been replaced by the brand’s new signature winged piece. New headlamps, LED taillights, and revised surfacing all around the body round out the most apparent aesthetic changes.

The old Encore’s 1.4-litre turbo four remains, and the compact SUV still seats five, or up to 1,371 litres or cargo with the rear seats folded down. The 2017 Buick Encore should hit showrooms in Canada this fall.
