New Ross, N.S., sawmill destroyed by fire

A sawmill in New Ross, N.S., was destroyed by a fire Thursday night.

A sawmill in New Ross, N.S., has been destroyed by a fire.

The fire broke out around 5 p.m. on Thursday at L.E. Elliott Lumber on New Russell Road, said an official with the New Ross Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighters from four different stations responded to the fire, including New Ross, Kentville, Chester Basin and Western Shore.

New Ross Fire said crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the nearby woods,

There is no word yet on the cause of the fire.
