Easter is around the corner so eggs are on the brain! This means it's the perfect time to share some frugal tips and tricks for eggs. These handy ideas cost nothing to try and just may help make your life easier.

HARD-BOIL FOR LESS

Foolproof way to hard-boil eggs - works every time! Place eggs in saucepan and cover with cool water. Bring water to a boil. Shut off heat/element, cover eggs and let steam for 10 minutes. Remove from stove, reserve boiled water, rinse eggs in cold water and peel. BONUS: this could be just in my own head, but it feels like this method makes for easier to peel eggs too. Maybe the slow heat / steam combo softens the shell more?

PEEL LIKE A PRO

If you struggle with peeling hard-boiled eggs, this tip is for you! Pour a small amount of water into a tall glass. Add your hard-boiled egg to the glass, cover the top of the glass with your hand or a towel and shake for a few seconds. The shell will dislodge from the egg and should remove easily, so you can eat.

TREAT YOUR PLANTS

Save your boiled egg water! Use the calcium-infused water for your plants. Throw in your crushed up egg shells and they'll love it even more! T

SEPARATE LIKE A PRO

We've all probably seen the viral video for separating eggs. Does it work? Yes! Use an empty water bottle, squeeze it to displace air, then place it over the yolk portion and release the squeeze. The suction will suck the yolk into the bottle. Tilt the bottle and transfer your yolk to a different dish. Done!

EGG ON YOUR FACE!

Korean beauty products are all the rage and there is a particular line of egg-based products by Too Cool for School that are supremely popular.

But you can experience the benefits of these popular products by making an egg facial treatment at home, for cents. This is best done as soon as you get out of the shower, after your face has had a hit of steam.

Whisk an egg white until it's frothy. Spread the foamy portion over your clean face. Let it sit for a few minutes until you can't smile. Rinse it off and pat dry. The egg white will cleanse, smooth and tighten your skin. Next up, the yolk! Prick the yolk and apply a small amount to your fingertips or cotton ball. Spread the yolk over your face. Egg yolks are known for their moisturizing properties. Let is sit for a few minutes (again) until you can't smile. Rinse and pat dry. Follow up with sunscreen and moisturizer.

There are two skin care ingredients in egg whites: collagen and protein. These may help to fight skin inflammation or fine lines and wrinkles.

The egg yolk contains vitamin A and fatty acids which may soften and moisturize your skin.
