Here's your daily dose of five things to know: a wildfire in Fort McMurray has forced the biggest evacuation in Alberta's history; Ted Cruz has suspended his Republican presidential bid; Quebec is changing its language laws; a vitamin known to boost metabolism has been found to restore the body's ability to regenerate; and a robotic hand might help a Canadian man win at the "Cyborg Olympics."

1. Fire in the city: A massive wildfire forced the evacuation of every neighbourhood in Fort McMurray -- the biggest evacuation in Alberta’s history -- with tens of thousands of people heading for safety. However, there was one happy tale: a pregnant woman that was forced to leave the city safely gave birth in a nearby housing camp.

2. Cruz bows out: Ted Cruz has suspended his campaign to be the Republican presidential candidate after losing to Donald Trump in the Indiana primary.

3. Laying down the law: Quebec is amending its language laws to make sure that French is featured on all outdoor signs and storefronts. The amendment would force stores like Wal-Mart and Canadian Tire to add French descriptions.

4. Repair, regenerate: Researchers from Switzerland, Canada and Brazil have studied a vitamin known as nicotinamide riboside and discovered that it can help the body's ability to regenerate and repair itself.

5. Cyborg Olympics: Canadian ingenuity may help a B.C. man win gold at the 2016 Cybathlon. He’s got a bionic hand, created at Simon Fraser University.
