Do you have a case of the Mondays?

Well, clear the sleep from your eyes, put on a fresh pot of coffee and kickstart your week with your daily dose of CTV News' 5 Things.

Here are the five things you need to know this Monday: the death toll continues to rise in Nepal but international groups are responding with help; the women’s FIFA world cup roster is set to be announced today; police are warning homeless Winnipeg residents to be vigilant; a court case involving the owner of a python that killed two brothers is due in court; and President Obama stole the show at the annual correspondents’ dinner with some zingers. And for ‘Money Mondays’ we take a look at how to save money…when you’re not making much at all.

1. Global response for Nepal: As the search for survivors continues and the death toll climbs in earthquake-stricken Nepal, world leaders and humanitarian groups are rallying to aid overseas.Saturday's earthquake was the worst to hit the South Asian nation in more than 80 years. Halfway around the world, the people of Nepal are in the hearts and minds of many Canadians, who spent Sunday worrying about how to get aid overseas.

2. Women's World Cup roster: Canada's roster for this summer's Women's World Cup is set to be unveiled on Monday. The squad is likely to be littered with familiar faces, including star player and national team captain, Christine Sinclair. As the host team, Canada did not have to qualify. The team will kick off the tournament on June 6 against China.

3. Be vigilant: Police in Winnipeg are advising homeless people to use caution after two homicides, and have asked other citizens to make sure homeless people are safe. The warning comes after two bodies of homeless men were found over the weekend, with police believing the cases are related.

4. Due in court: The case of a man accused in the deaths of two boys killed by a python in New Brunswick is due in court today. The python escaped an enclosure from an apartment in 2013 and asphyxiated two brothers.

5. Rhymes with bucket: At the annual correspondents' dinner held over the weekend, U.S. President Barack Obama got a chance to take some friendly shots at his political opponents, allies and the press. In one of the more memorable zingers, Obama mocked House Speaker John Boehner for breaking precedent and inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address Congress. "It is no wonder that people keep pointing out how the presidency has aged me," said Obama. "I look so old, John Boehner's already invited Netanyahu to speak at my funeral."

And one more thing for Money Monday…

After landing a job that pays your rent, you realize it does little more than that. So how can you balance saving up for a trip or even buying a home while barely covering the basics?
