Three people have been killed in a helicopter crash near Terrace, B.C.

Gerry Pash of the Victoria Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre says the A-Star 350 helicopter was on a training mission when it went down on Sleeping Beauty Mountain.

He says an electronic flight tracking system led a second helicopter to the area, about 20 kilometres west of Terrace, and a search and rescue worker was dropped off to hike to the site.

The chopper was owned by Bailey Helicopters of Fort St. John, B.C.

The Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash.
